Aashim Dhand - Managing Partner

Aashim Dhand is the Managing Partner at Property Legal. Aashim is a former pupil of Altrincham Grammar School for Boys. Aashim was educated at Leeds University where he graduated with a first class honours in law and won the Margaret Simpson award for property law. He then went on to Chester College of Law where he graduated with a distinction.

Prior to setting up Property Legal, Aashim worked for Pannone LLP for five years (a top 100 law firm) where he worked alongside some of the most respected and well known commercial and residential property lawyers in the country and where he undertook work for a broad range of clients. These ranged from one of the largest oil companies in the world, to smaller property entrepreneurs.

Aashim’s clients refer to him as speedy, efficient, and very friendly. He aims to bring an extremely commercial outlook on a transaction and provide his clients with pragmatic, straight talking and un-biased legal advice.

Emma Selbie – Legal Executive

Emma is a Legal Executive who specialises in all areas of residential Conveyancing, general property law and also wills and probate. Most recently, Emma worked for Irwin Mitchell in Manchester City Centre and prior to that, specialised in residential Conveyancing at a leading firm in south Cheshire. Emma also has commercial property experience and has acted for both Landlords and Tenants.

Emma has a number of existing relationships with estate agents across the south Cheshire and Greater Manchester area which compliment Property Legal’s strong client and referral base.

Maura Sherlock - Licensed Conveyancer

Maura has spent the majority of her career with leading UK Law Firms Hammonds and Eversheds. She now heads up the Plot Sales team at Property Legal and acts for local developers in the north-west.

Maura has experience in all aspects of conveyancing and brings a wealth of technical expertise to the team.

Pauline Gill - Practice Manager and Conveyancing Executive

Pauline started her career with Slater Heelis as a Legal Secretary and very quickly established herself as a valued fee earning member of the team acting for major house builders on the plot sales and also for individuals buying and selling property. Later, Pauline worked for Halliwells in Manchester as a Conveyancing Executive again acting for house builders and individuals. Since joining Property Legal, Pauline has now taken on a management responsibility and oversees the day to day running of the office. Pauline still retains an interest in fee earning and still acts for a small number of clients.

Pauline is married with four lovely children and her interests include helping a local football team, supporting her beloved Manchester City, reading, music and spending quality time with her family.

Gina Gameson - Accounts Manager

Gina is kept busy by the residential Conveyancing team at Property Legal and is known to be extremely efficient and highly organised! Gina has worked for a number of property solicitors and brings a wealth of experience to the role.

Robert Thomas - Partner

Rob, a former pupil of The Manchester Grammar School, graduated with a 2:1 in law from The University of Sheffield and went on to Chester College of Law where he graduated with a commendation.

Rob trained with Brabners Chaffe Street in Liverpool where he was also seconded to The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company when it became part of Peel Holdings. Rob also worked for Eversheds in Manchester where he undertook a mixture of Commercial Property and Property Development work. Rob went into partnership with Aash in 2009 and now undertakes a general mix of residential property (including freehold/leasehold house sales and purchases, new build purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity arising out of divorce, financial planning etc and equity release. Rob is on the panel for a number of local estate agents and house builders. Rob also deals with all aspects of commercial property and acts for Landlords and Tenants, investors and developers.

In his spare time, Rob enjoys watching and playing most sports and is also a keen musician.

Adam Pavey - Partner

Adam attended the King’s School, Macclesfield and then read English at St Andrews. He subsequently studied at Chester College of Law, and undertook his training contract with Rowlands Solictors. Adam is a committee member of the Manchester Law Society and is now their International Officer; following three years spent working in Italy, during which time he became fluent in the language.

Adam now heads up Dispute Legal which deals with all areas of contentious law alongside Property Legal. The department offers our clients a range of services, including, commercial litigation, employment law, wills and probate, business law, personal injury and family Law.

Kirsty Owen - Paralegal

Kirsty joined Property Legal in February 2011. She developed a strong interest in residential Conveyancing, resulting in her promotion to assistant to Aash.

Kirsty is now involved in completing conveyancing transactions for Aash, such as registering the properties with the Land Registry, stamp duty certificates, liaising with banks regarding mortgage completions, pre completion search work and lots of client liaison.

Noel Davies - Paralegal

After Graduating from York University with a History degree, Noel worked for Beckett, Bemrose and Hagan Solicitors as a Senior Legal Secretary/Assistant Fee-Earner, where he gained extensive experience in House Sale and Purchase Conveyancing work.

He is a valuable member of the fee earning team assisting Emma and Catherine.

Alanna O’Grady – Paralegal

Alanna previously worked for HL Interactive, where she worked as Senior Post Completion Administrator. During this time she acquired a good understanding of all aspects regarding HM Land Registry.

Alanna now assists Maura Sherlock with her caseload on the plot sales team, this includes registering the properties with the Land Registry and dealing with any enquiries, processing stamp duty certificates, liaising with banks regarding mortgage completions, pre completion search work and lots of client liaison.

Ted Kingsnorth - Solicitor

Ted joined Property Legal in August 2011 as a conveyancing solicitor, bringing with him a wealth of conveyancing experience.

After qualifying at Hammonds in Manchester in August 2007, Ted worked for Pinsent Masons in Leeds and Brighouse Wolff in Ormskirk before moving to Bois Bois in Jersey.  Ted returned to Dorset working for Dyne Drewett but returned to Manchester shortly after to be nearer family and friends where he joined Property Legal.

Ted specialises in residential conveyancing but also has 3 years’ experience in commercial property doing Landlord and Tenant work and sales and acquisitions of commercial property sites.

Outside of work, Ted enjoys Rock Climbing in the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales and is a regular at Stockport Climbing Wall.

Jessica Donnelly - Paralegal

After leaving school, Jess worked for a conveyancing firm in Fallowfield where she completed a GNVQ in business allowing her to work her way up from receptionist to junior conveyancing assistant.  Jess then left to pursue a different career path but returned to a solicitors office as a PA before moving into the conveyancing department as an assistant.

Jess joined Property Legal as Ted Kingsnorth’s assistant and is now studying to become a licensed conveyancer at the City College in Manchester.

Carol Eaton - Office Administrator

Carol joined Property Legal in September 2011 as a member of the office team and brings with her a diversity of skills gained from working for multiple clients during the course of her career.

Carol assists Emma with Aash’s management case load and all other aspects of helping to run  Property Legal’s busy office.

Catherine Jordan - Solicitor

Catherine joined property legal in Sept 2011 specialising in residential conveyancing. She qualified in 2002 at Anthony Hodari where she dealt with personal injury and conveyancing.  Catherine comes with a wealth of conveyancing experience gained from working in both small and medium sized firms throughout her career.

Catherine enjoys keeping fit outside of her work life with step classes and kick boxing.

Jack Medlicott - Conveyancing Assistant

Jack graduated from Liverpool John Moores university with LLB honours and is currently studying his LPC on a part time basis in Liverpool.

Alexandra Mealor - Receptionist

Alex joined Property Legal in November 2011. She began her career at Jolliffe & Co Solicitors in Chester where she worked for three years and has relocated to the Hale area. Alex is a receptionist and works with Carol in other administrative duties.
